Police sources say the man initially robbed a PNC Bank in North Dallas before carjacking an elementary school principal and leading police on a chase.

DALLAS — A man who allegedly robbed a North Texas bank was arrested after a standoff with Dallas police, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by WFAA.

Police sources said the man, identified in the arrest warrant affidavit as Greg Noble, 57, robbed a PNC Bank in North Dallas and then attempted to carjack several vehicles in the parking lot of Dallas ISD’s Leonides Gonzalez Cigarroa Elementary. At one point, the man fired a shot in the air, sources said.

Eventually, the man took the principal’s Tesla and drove off until, sources said, he crashed the car.

Dallas police were called shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday to help find a Toyota Sequoia that had been taken at gunpoint earlier in the day, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit confirmed Noble was suspected in “several armed robberies and one bank robbery” earlier that day.

Officers spotted the vehicle traveling westbound on Singleton Boulevard before turning on Vibig Road, then Homeland Street, before speeding up, according to the affidavit.

“The operator of the vehicle evaded at a high rate of speed for approximately two miles before crashing,” the affidavit says, in a parking lot in the 3000 block of Gulden Lane.

Noble refused to exit his vehicle, so the Dallas police SWAT unit responded and got him out after a standoff, the affidavit states.

Video from the scene at the intersection of Singleton Boulevard and Gulden Lane showed police surrounding the suspect car and attempting to talk the man out of the vehicle.

Noble was taken to an area hospital for a medical evaluation after he was taken to the Dallas County Jail and booked in on a complaint of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit notes a bank robbery charge is pending from the FBI.
