CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The No. 2 seed Shady Spring Tigers were looking for their third ring in five seasons coming into the Class AAA state tournament and after taking down No. 7 seed Robert C. Byrd in the state quarterfinals, the Tigers had a date with No. 3 seed Nitro Wildcats in the state semifinals.

In the end though, after being outscored 15-2 in the first quarter, Shady Spring couldn’t recover and would fall to Nitro 63-49.
