It’s good for your brain to regularly engage in puzzles or brainteasers, as they can be beneficial for your mental health.
Research has shown that indulging in such cognitive exercises daily can help enhance memory retention, and contribute to a healthier, more resilient brain.
In fact, keeping our brains active is essential, and while physically activity like fitness classes or running helps wake us up and keep us alert for the rest of the day, we also have mental exercises to keep us sharp.
The Mental Health Foundation found that almost six in ten adults in Scotland (58 per cent) experienced anxiety that interfered with their daily lives.
Puzzles, crosswords, brain teasers, and different exercises that stimulate our brain and keep us curious and engaged can be a major stress-reliever, and although not solve all your problems, definitely calm you down in the moment.
So, why not give your brain skills a workout now? If you’ve ever wondered how good you are at multitasking, check out this new brainteaser, created by the team at Jackson’s Art.
According to a new UK-based poll, more than half of males now believe they are just as good at juggling activities as their female counterparts.
The new study, which surveyed 2,000 Britons in November 2024, found that 60 per cent of men described themselves as a ‘decent multi-tasker’ – the same percentage as women.
Overall, the research showed that one in three (30 per cent) of Britons are confident they have mastered the art of multi-tasking
But to beat this tricky brainteaser, you must pronounce the colour of the word correctly, as opposed to the word itself. Only puzzle experts will be able to crack this code, the creators claim.
The puzzle is a series of written colours. However, the colour of the text does not match the word. The aim of this brain training exercise is to read from top to bottom saying the colour of the text, rather than the word itself.
Whilst this may seem easy, the puzzle is deceptively tricky. This is because one half of your brain processes the word, whilst the other half focusses on the colour.

If you’ve bet the odds and managed to do the above, check out another brainteaser, the latest from McLuck that challenges you to spot the odd word out amid the disorientating rows of the word “spring” in this puzzling image.
The exact nature of the challenge is to find the incorrectly spelled word among the sea of letters.
Glancing at the image, it appears as though most of the words say “spring“, but one of them is the odd one out. McLuck claims that only those with laser-sharp focus can spot the misspelled word in under 15 seconds.
