RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. – In celebration of National Puppy Day, The Resort at Glade Springs was the backdrop for an event giving back to shelter animals.

The resort, Weathered Ground Brewery, and the Humane Society of Raleigh County collaborated for a Pours for Paws event, in hopes of showcasing some adoptable dogs.

“It helps get our dogs get out there, get them seen, get them adopted, cause not everyone thinks of a shelter when they think of wanting a dog,” said Hanna Cottle, a volunteer and outreach coordinator with the humane society.

As the name implies, the event featured a bar, music, and the opportunity to donate to the animal shelter. Weathered Ground Brewery offered their selections of IPAs, with the promise of matching donations to the humane society.

“I mean, it was always in our mission statement when we opened, like, to be able to do as much as we could for the community and I specifically have always been huge with the animals, especially dogs in the community,” said Aryn Fonda, co-owner of Weathered Ground Brewery.

While this is the first time The Resort at Glade Springs has held such an event, they hope to bring it back again in the future to continue supporting animals in the community.

“We’re hoping this becomes a success for them, and that we can continue to do this…for the rest of the year and future,” added Cheslea Gray, the events producer for the resort.

Cottle also told WVVA that they are always accepting donations and volunteers. You can find out more about the humane society by clicking here.
