AUSTIN, Texas — A road in Downtown Austin was shut down after glass panels fell from a high-rise building under construction.
According to the Austin Fire Department (AFD), crews shut down Guadalupe Street between Fifth Street and Sixth Street overnight due to the glass.
As of Sunday afternoon, the road was still closed.
AFD said they were unsure if windows that were installed had fallen down, or if the glass came from construction debris.
This is the second time in as many weeks that a road in Downtown Austin was closed due to falling glass, after a section of West Sixth Street was temporarily closed last weekend for the same reason.
AFD said they are working with the building’s developer and the Fire Marshal to investigate.
