People have been left astonished by a crafty hack that promises to make your white socks dazzle like new.

It’s a well-known struggle to maintain the freshness of white socks. After just a few uses, they tend to turn grimy and lose their brightness, stubbornly defying even frequent washing.

However, there’s no need to shell out loads on repeated laundering sessions or expensive cleaning products. A laundry fanatic has revealed a thrifty method that will keep both your socks and your budget in tip-top shape.

Popular content creator @cleanwith_kayleigh – boasting over two million followers on Instagram for her account brimming with nifty cleaning hacks and lifestyle suggestions – broadcasted her guidance in a recent video, announcing: “How to remove stubborn stains from white socks.”

She advocates for an affordability-priced product at a mere £3. In her process, Kayleigh starts off by dropping all the dirty socks into a mini tub with lukewarm water, then proceeds to mix in two spoons of The Pink Stuff oxi stain powder, particularly aimed at whitening – an economical purchase available at Savers for only £3.

Subsequently, employing a wooden spoon, she stirs the concoction well, leaving the socks to steep for one hour. When the time is up, she drains the water by tipping it into the bath, consequently retrieving the socks.

To complete the process, she sprays the socks with The Pink Stuff oxi stain remover spray, then pauses for another five minutes – yet another budget-friendly find at BandM Bargains for a modest £1.49.

The Pink Stuff has offered insights into their product, saying: “This handy pre-treat stain remover spray is great for use with whites and colours and has been formulated for amazing stain removal. It works on many day to day stains with ease and gentleness due to its natural formulation.”

Kayleigh then puts the socks in the washing machine with washing powder and oxi stain powder for whites. The mum swears by this smart approach as her go-to method for getting rid of stains on her family’s white socks.

In response to the hack, one person said: “I would save a clean fortune on Nike socks for my boys.”

Another commented: ” I can never get the grip socks white again or the strip, will need to try this. “Amazing results,” noted someone. “Wow,” someone else expressed.

“I need to do this,” another commenter mentioned. However, one individual confessed: “I just can’t be a**ed, I’d rather buy new socks.”
