HOUSTON — Five men and a woman were shot early Sunday morning at an after-hours club in southwest Houston, according to police.
It happened around 3 a.m. at Latina Sports Bar at Hillcroft Avenue and Sands Point Drive.
Authorities said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident with the suspects and those who were shot knowing each other. They said it happened in the parking lot.
Three shooting victims were taken to an area hospital via ambulance and three others were taken via private vehicle. Four of them were in critical condition and undergoing surgery when police gave an update shortly after the gunfire erupted.
Investigators said they were looking for two suspects who were in a black Toyota Camry or Corolla.
They said they had surveillance video and were also talking to witnesses. They said the club was “packed” when the shots rang out. After-hour clubs have been a focus for Houston police.
“The establishment behind me is a true after-hours club, something that we are trying to target in this city,” Houston Police Department Assistant Chief James Skelton said.
Authorities said the clubs are hot spots for crime.
“Establishments like this, that harbor within our city, contribute to crime,” Skelton said. “We are targeting these locations and we’re going to shut them down because it harbors the DWIs and the assaults.”
Just after 10 a.m., Houston police released photos of the suspects wanted in connection with the shooting:

Omer Yousafzai owns four businesses in the southwest Houston shopping center — just a few doors down from what he calls a troublesome club.
“Steps have to be taken in order to minimize the issues that happened last night,” he said.
He has even done his part to keep the area safe.
“I want this place to be calm, not like this. I don’t want to see it like this,” Yousafzai said.
Over the years, Yousafzai has bought several stores in the strip center, including a corner store where he stopped selling alcohol and tobacco. He said it made a difference.
“Even HPD, the police were happy when I bought that business. They were saying you made our job easy,” he said.
He’s hopeful things will improve, but until then, he said he’ll remain vigilant and wants a stronger police presence in the area.
Here’s the update police provided at the scene:
