With Mother’s Day fast approaching some people have yet to find a way to show mum how much they care. Luckily enough, Macdonald Hotels and Resorts are offering a luxurious spa day package that can still be purchased online.

The luxury hotel group is offering Divine Spa Day for two treatment packages. These include a 55-minute ELEMIS Pro Glow Brilliance Facial treatment, full access to the spa and leisure facilities and a free ELEMIS Cleanse and Replenish Kit worth £88.

With resorts located all over the UK, there are countless ways to make Mother’s Day extra special. These include Cardrona in Peebles, Crutherland House in East Kilbride, Forest Hills in Aberfoyle, Houstoun House in West Lothian and Inchyra Falkirk.

If you don’t fancy a spa experience, why not indulge mum with afternoon tea or the Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch, where excellent service and delicious food are guaranteed. If your mum has particular preferences, you could even opt for one of several voucher options so she can choose her own treatments and gifts.

Elsewhere, there are plenty of other spa day options tailored to Mother’s Day, such as the offers at Bannatyne Spa. There’s also a broad range of treatments and locations available via Virgin Experience Days.

However, Macdonald Hotels has a solid reputation for its spa experiences, with dozens of five-star reviews at Trustpilot. “We did a one-night spa break and found it to be good value for money,” said one five-star review. “The rooms are comfortable and our meal in the restaurant was very nice. We really appreciated the staff storing our daughter’s birthday cake in the fridge! Many thanks.”

Another review said: “Superbly well-appointed kitchen and living/dining area,” before lauding the hotel’s amenities, “Gardens and facilities are generally well up to standard. The main difference from the Algarve is the potential weather and fewer dining and bar outlets on site. It is very relaxing and well-organised. Quite honestly, I had not expected anything as good – and the price very reasonable.”

However, some guests weren’t quite so impressed. One visitor at the Windermere location reported: “I stayed in the Windermere hotel and had a very disappointing experience,” detailing further, “The staff were pleasant enough but useless when we asked for some local information and very slow at serving breakfast and afternoon tea.”

Conversely, another customer left a far more positive note, saying: “The staff here were all very lovely and helpful, and the rooms were all clean. The amenities were all brilliant as well.”
