A 16-year-old boy was shot to death while getting off a Queens bus Wednesday, police and sources said.
The teen was stepping off a Q83 bus on Liberty Ave. at 172nd St. in South Jamaica when a masked man approached him just after 2:40 p.m., police sources said.
The gunman fired a bullet into the teen’s chest and took off eastbound on Liberty Ave. He was last seen wearing a black vest over a gray hoodie, with a black backpack, according to police sources.
Medics called to the scene rushed the boy to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, but he could not be saved. His name has not been released as police work first to notify his family of the death.
There were no immediate arrests.
