MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) – West Virginia University’s Mountaineer Marching Band will have a new facility to use for rehearsals, camps and storage in the fall.

Work has officially begun on the Pride of West Virginia’s new practice facility, which is located at the Med Fields on Chestnut Ridge Road in Morgantown next to Mountaineer Station.

The new facility will feature a full-sized, artificial turf field with stadium lighting, a storage building and a covered pavilion.

“The new field will be a tremendous asset for the Mountaineer Marching Band, providing a rehearsal surface well suited for marching, and identical to the performance surface inside Milan Puskar Stadium,” said Scott Tobias, director of bands at WVU. ”Everyone associated with the “Pride of West Virginia” is so very appreciative of the many individuals who have worked to make this a reality.”
