The trail is blocked off from Brazos Street to just west of the Congress Bridge as of 10 a.m. Thursday.

AUSTIN, Texas — First responders pulled a body out of Lady Bird Lake near Downtown Austin Thursday morning.

Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) said a call came in around 8:35 a.m. about a person who was face down in the water. Medics and Austin Fire Department crews responded to the scene near the Congress Avenue Bridge.

The response initially began as a water rescue, but the person in the water was pronounced dead on scene. 

The Austin Police Department said there is a death investigation underway, but no foul play is suspected at this time.

The trail in the area is blocked off from Brazos Street to just west of the Congress Bridge.
