Kemond Taylor, 27, and Brandon Montgomery, 27, are both charged with felony aggravated robbery.

AUSTIN, Texas — Two men have been arrested after allegedly being behind a “jugging”-style robbery that happened in Cedar Park last month.

According to the Cedar Park Police Department, officers responded to a call of a robbery at a residence on Feb. 14. The victim told officers that after leaving a local bank and driving home, an armed man approached him and threatened him with a gun, demanding cash.

The victim complied and gave the money he had to the suspect. The suspect then entered a vehicle and fled the scene.

After an investigation, Cedar Park police determined 27-year-old Kemond Taylor and 27-year-old Brandon Montgomery, both from Houston, as the suspects.

Detectives continued investigating in Houston, with assistance from the Houston Police Department and Texas DPS.

Taylor was arrested on March 24, and Montgomery was arrested on March 26. Both are facing first-degree felony charges for aggravated robbery.

Investigators determined that the robbery was done as a form of “jugging,” which is when criminals surveil banks or other financial institutions and target customers who conduct cash transactions. They will then follow victims and either burglarize vehicles or threaten or use violence to steal money from them.
