ATLANTA (WANF/Gray News) – Authorities in Gwinnett County say the body of a missing child was found Friday in a retention pond.
Police said Indi Bullock, a nonverbal 5-year-old boy, was last seen around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Reflections on Sweetwater Apartments in the Lawrenceville area.
The 5-year-old reportedly went missing after jumping over his family’s apartment balcony.
Gwinnett County authorities said two K-9 teams and other first responders took up the search for Indi before locating his body in a retention pond behind the apartment complex.
Law enforcement agencies said foul play is not expected while the medical examiner is working to determine the boy’s cause of death.
Police said the search and recovery efforts were emotional for everyone involved. They also thanked those in the community for their assistance.
