A delivery worker rolling through Manhattan’s Upper West Side was stabbed in the back with a screwdriver during a robbery attempt, police said Friday.
The 34-year-old deliveryman had just made a drop off on West End Ave. near W. 61st St. at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday when he saw two men trying to take his bicycle, cops said.
When the victim tried to stop them, the suspects attempted to take his backpack along with the bike, cops said.
During the ensuing struggle, one of the suspects pulled out a screwdriver and jammed it into his back.
The two men then ran off, cops said.
EMS took the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he’s expected to recover.
No arrests have been made.
