ODESSA, Texas (KOSA/Gray News) – Two people were arrested after two preschoolers were found sleeping alone in a car in Texas.
Martha Aguilar, 30, and Alejandro Ortiz, 27, have each been charged with two counts of endangering a child.
Odessa police said they were called to a home for a welfare check just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
Police said officers arrived to find two small children, ages 5 and 3, asleep inside a purple Dodge Charger.
Officers knocked on the door of the home, where Aguilar and Ortiz answered.
Further details about the investigation were not given, but police said based on the facts and circumstances presented, Aguilar and Ortiz were arrested. They were taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
Child Protective Services was notified, and the children were released to a family member.
