(CNN) – NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope is revealing new insights about the planet Uranus.
An unprecedented 20-year-old study took a closer look at the planet’s atmospheric composition and dynamics.

The NASA team said the planet’s atmosphere is made up mostly of hydrogen and helium with small amounts of methane and traces of water and ammonia.
However, the gases are not distributed uniformly across the planet’s surface.
They float around based on sunlight and seasonal changes.
Hubble has already been used to provide a close-up look at Uranus’ sideways rotation and its unique surface characteristics.
