Espino graduated from Carroll High School in 1995. He then entered the military, joining the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and was stationed in Cairo, Egypt. He also created a film for the inaugural Corpus Christi 7-Day Film Project. His family says his favorite genre was horror.

Espino lived in a number of different places, including New York City, San Antonio and Austin, moving to the Texas capital just last year up until his death.

“He’s finally home,” his family said. “He’s finally resting and he’s finally at peace knowing how truly loved he was and what a phenomenal impact he made on this earth.”
