More than 20 legal claims of historical abuse at Celtic Boys Club have been settled for a seven-figure sum.
It’s understood around 30 former players had launched a class action against Celtic for damages.
Thompsons Solicitors said 70% of those cases had now been settled and that further settlements are expected in the coming weeks.
Celtic had indicated last year it was seeking to settle the cases.
Confirmation of the settlements came today after several former coaches and officials at the boys’ club were convicted of sexual offences against teenage players spanning decades.

Torbett is jailed for two years for abusing three ex-Celtic Boys Club players.
He is handed another six years for assaults on six players.
2019
McCafferty is jailed for six years for the abuse of 10 teenage boys.
Cairney is handed a four-year prison sentence after being convited of nine charges of historical abuse.
2020
Celtic say it is “very sorry” abuse ever took place.

2022
Ex-senior member of the Boys Club is charged with a child sex offence and an ex-coach with links to the club is extradited from Vietnam to stand trial.
