CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – University of Virginia student Simone Marijic is on to the next round of ‘The Voice’ after a last second save.

The third-year student went head-to-head against her teammate in the battle round of the singing show.

Their coach, Kelsea Ballerini, did not chose Marijic as the winner of the competition, but another coach, Micheal Bublé, saved the day.

Buble used his right to save a singer from another team on Marijic just as she was walking off the stage.

“I was so grateful in that moment. It was just such a relief. I think I felt in my bones I was not ready to go, and I felt like there was more for me on the show,” Marijic told 29News in an interview.

The Hoo will compete on Bublé’s team in the third round of the show, called “the knockouts.”
