Water well (WEEK 25)

CHARELSTON, W.Va. – A bill was passed by the senate today that would put restrictions on how much water pollution can be regulated in the mountain state.

If passed, Senate Bill 940 would not allow an ordinance relating to water pollution that is stricter than any “federal or state rule, regulation, program, or permitting regime.”

This passage comes as the Environmental Protection Agency promises to roll back protections.

The purity of drinking water in West Virginia is already a concern for some residents.

The bill will now head to the House of Delegates. The last day of session is April 12th.
