
PRINCETON, W.Va. -Back at the Mercer County Courthouse where Autism Awareness is front-and-center Wednesday as well.
Southern Highlands Community Mental Health Center with assistance from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and other first responders holding an Autism Awareness Walk.
The group of around 40 people led by first responders Wednesday walking around the courthouse to raise awareness about autism.
Chief Deputy Major J. J. Ruble tells us as a parent of an autistic child that events like this are a great way to inform the public about folks living with the disorder.
“We have a son that is autistic. We have several guys in the department that have children that are autistic also. So anytime we can get out just spread the word and get out and interact the autism community”
