A body has been recovered from a river in the Highlands.
Emergency services were called to the River Beauly, near to Black Bridge in village, after the grim discovery was made at around 12.20pm on Monday.
It’s understood several police vehicles were called to the scene before the body was recovered from the water.
Locals were left shocked as emergency services descended onto the scene.
One eyewitness said: “I saw police vehicles down by the fishing hut, sirens approaching the area. Also saw a coastguard vehicle and a firebrigade vehicle towing a rescue boat.”
Another added: “I saw them too but never found out what was going on.”
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20pm on Monday, March 31 2025, the body of a man was recovered from the River Beauly near to Black Bridge, Beauly.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
