The cost of accommodation around the 2025 Grand National has DOUBLED – but horse racing punters can still book last-minute bargains.
Tens of thousands people from across the country and beyond will descend on the famous Aintree racecourse this weekend as 34 of the best runners in the business will line up for the ultimate prize.
But getting there to see them is another matter entirely.
Punters lucky enough to get last-minute race tickets will be rifling through the likes of Booking.com and Airbnb to see if there is accommodation that meets their price limit.
MyBettingSites has crunched numbers for you, analysing over 2,000 accommodation listings on both sites to determine how much higher accommodation prices are during the festival compared to the week before and after.
All accommodation was located within 20km of Aintree with the dates from April 2-6.
They were then compared to the average prices of four-night stays on the same days of the week in the weeks before and after the Grand National (March 26-30 and April 9-13).
The accommodation search was pre-set for two adults. According to the results:

a four-night stay near Aintree (& its surrounding areas, including Liverpool) between April 2-6 on Airbnb costs on average £811 , which is 123.87% more than the week before the festival.

a four-night stay near Aintree (& its surrounding areas, including Liverpool) on Booking.com costs on average £850, which is 60.45% more than the week before the festival

When Booking.com & Airbnb data are combined together, an average four-night stay near Aintree (& its surrounding areas, including Liverpool) costs on average £1,256 which is 76.61% more than the week prior.

The cheapest option on Airbnb for the Grand National festival (April 2-6) is a private room with a shared bathroom 8km from the Aintree racecourse for £159.

Meanwhile, the most expensive option on Airbnb for the Grand National festival is an entire 2-bedroom home 2km from the Aintree racecourse for £4,692.

The cheapest option on Booking for the Grand National festival is a stay in a mixed dormitory of a guest house 4.3 km from the Aintree racecourse for £234 or a double room with a shared bathroom for £238.

Meanwhile, there are 4 accommodation options still available on Airbnb, ranging from £1,637 to £2,573 for a 4-night stay during the Grand National festival.
