AUSTIN, Texas — Do you have stacks of old bills, bank statements or medical bills that just keep piling up? Well, now you have a chance to get rid of them once and for all.
From now until May 7, Frost Bank is hosting shredding events at some of its financial centers around Austin.
Anyone participating can bring up to 10 containers of paper products to be shredded for free. The shredder can accommodate paper clips and staples, and paper documents can remain in envelopes. However, the shred events cannot accommodate items such as cardboard boxes, X-rays, CDs, DVDs, hard drives or pill bottles.
The company said the shredding events provide Austinites more privacy and security getting rid of important documents. During the 2024 event, Austinites shredded 271 tons of paper, which Frost Bank estimates saved more than 4,000 trees.
