CHARELSTON, W.Va. – A State of Preparedness is now in effect for all of West Virginia from now until Sunday April 5.

“I am urging all West Virginians to heed weather warnings over the next few days as severe storms make their way across the state,” said Governor Morrisey. “As we continue to monitor developments, I have directed all state agencies and resources to prepare to respond as needed.”

A State of Preparedness allows certain emergency personnel to be ready to respond in an effective time should a crisis occur.

“The main threat will be damaging winds, but hail, flooding, and weak tornadoes are possible,” said Meteorologist Jeffrey Hoole in his latest forecast. “A slight risk lies across half of our area, with a marginal risk to the south.”
