DAWSON, W.Va. – According to a press release, a Greenbrier County man was placed behind bars after a joint investigation between local and state agencies.
The Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force joined forces with the West Virginia State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to to arrest 45 year old Christopher Scott Adwell of Dawson.
Officials say Adwell was in possession of child pornographic images and has been charged with one count of distributing or exhibiting material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
He was transported to Southern Regional Jail and has since posted his $30,000 bond.
Deputies of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the West Virginia State Police, Lewisburg Police Department, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and multiple other law enforcement agencies participated in this investigation.
“The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind parents and guardians to be hypervigilant about who their children is talking to on the internet, social media, snapchat and other forms of communication,” said Greenbrier County Sheriff Bart Baker.
