Law enforcement is investigating the possible attempt on Wednesday morning.

LEANDER, Texas — Police are responding to a potential child abduction attempt on Wednesday morning in Leander.

According to the Leander Police Department, a 4-year-old child is safe after the alleged attempt happened sometime before 9:15 a.m. at the Lakeline Apartments, on 3000 N. Lakeline Blvd.

Law enforcement is currently searching for a suspect who left the scene heading southbound after the incident. He is described as a thin man who is either bald or has thin, curly hair and is 5 feet, 9 inches tall.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt, light shorts and no shoes. If you encounter the suspect, officials say not to approach him directly but instead to contact law enforcement.

Police are using drones and K-9s to help search for the suspect. They are also in contact with Leander ISD to make sure those in the district remain safe.
