An urgent warning has been released for customers who purchased a Tower Airfryer from Argos and Sainsbury’s due to concerns that certain models could overheat and potentially cause a fire. Customers are urged to immediately stop using the item and check if their product is affected by locating the product number on the base of the air fryer.
Impacted batch numbers are as follows:
- 7452194 – TOWER 2.2L COMPACT AIRFRYER BLK (T17023)
- 9460452 – TOWER 4L AIRFRYER BLK (T17061BLK)
- 9476769 – TOWER 4L DIGITAL AIRFRYER BLK (T17067)
Argos commented on the situation, saying: “A small number of units have been identified as having a potential manufacturing default that could cause the air fryer to overheat and pose a fire risk”.

Further instructions were provided: “Please stop using the item immediately, and check if you have an affected product by locating the product number on the base of the air fryer”. reports Wales Online..
They went on to advise: “Once you have identified that your product is impacted, please visit www.tower-safety.co.uk to see if the batch number means it is included in the recall. If it is, follow the instructions on how to return your affected product”.
The company apologised, stating: “We take the quality and safety of our products extremely seriously and would like to apologise to customers affected for any inconvenience this may cause. No other batches are affected by this recall”.
