MANCHESTER, N.H. (Gray News) – The body of a newborn baby was found in a pond at a park in New Hampshire last week.

According to the Manchester Police Department, officers responded to the report of a body found in the water at Pine Island Park at about 4 p.m. on March 27.

Responding officers discovered the body was that of a newborn baby girl. Her identity remains unknown, so police are referring to her as Baby Jane Doe.

Through further investigation, officials have determined the baby was likely placed in the water sometime between Tuesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 27, before she was found that afternoon.

An autopsy was performed to determine the cause and manner of death, which are still undetermined and pending further testing.

The case is currently being investigated as a suspicious death.
