RICHLANDS, Va. – Coming into Wednesday’s Softball rivalry matchup in Richlands between the Lady Blue Tornado and Lady Bulldogs of Tazewell, Richlands started their season 0-2, before grabbing a win against Grundy.
Tazewell, on the other hand, had not won a game on the season, coming in 0-2.
With bragging rights on the line, in each team’s first game in Southwest District play, the Richlands bats put it away early in the first inning.
However, a first-inning offensive outburst that saw five runs cross the plate, thanks to Cami Spencer’s grand slam, was not all for the Lady Blue Tornado.
Richlands went on to put five more runs on the board, going on to run rule Tazewell in five innings and win it 10-0.
