“He’s arrived, and our hearts are so full of love and gratitude!,” Loreal Sarkisian posted on Instagram Friday.

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian and his wife Loreal have a new member of their family.

On Friday, the two revealed on social media that Loreal had given birth to a son. Coach Sarkisian missed practice Monday due to the birth, according to a post on X by Orangeblood’s Anwar Richardson.

“He’s arrived, and our hearts are so full of love and gratitude!,” Loreal Sarkisian posted on Instagram Friday afternoon. “Embracing these first days quietly resting, adjusting, and soaking in every little moment has been amazing! Thank you for your love and for respecting this sweet time of privacy.”

Coach Sarkisian replied to the post with three blue heart emojis and shared the news on his Instagram story.

The couple has been married since 2020 but announced plans to separate in 2024, citing how their professional careers “made it difficult to prioritize time for each other.”

However, Loreal was seen at a number of Texas games during the 2024 season, and is seen wearing a wedding ring in one of the photos posted Friday.

Sarkisian has been coach of the Longhorns since the 2021 season, amassing a 38-17 overall record with two College Football Playoff appearances. Texas extended his contract prior to the 2024 season, making him one of the highest paid head coaches in college football. Earlier this year, his contract was extended even further, tying him to the team through the 2031 season.

Sarkisian has three children with his first wife Stephanie, whom he split up with in 2015. His son, Brady, currently plays as a linebacker for the Longhorns.
