AUSTIN, Texas — Interstate 35 through Downtown Austin has reopened after a person was hit and killed by a vehicle on Saturday morning.
The crash happened on the southbound lanes near the 12th Street exit, just south of the Moody Center.
Traffic had to be diverted to the frontage road.
Austin-Travis County EMS paramedics tried to save the person, but they died at the scene.
It’s unclear if the driver will face charges.
