(CNN) – Beginning May 7, travelers aged 18 and older will have to present Real ID-compliant identification to board a domestic flight.
This includes updated state drivers’ licenses or other state-issued identification with Real ID markings.
The markings are stamps on the right corner of accepted documents.
Flyers can also use alternate identification, like a passport.
The Transportation Safety Administration says it plans to enforce the identification deadline as scheduled on May 7.
The travel requirement was originally scheduled to take effect in 2020. However, it was pushed back because of a backlog at Department of Motor Vehicle offices across the country during the COVID pandemic.
