CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT/Gray News) – A woman is accused of abuse that led to the death of her 23-year-old niece.
Chesterfield Police Department said Secrett Curtis died after being taken to the hospital, where police were called because she had signs of malnourishment.
Secrett Curtis was autistic and had cerebral palsy. She lived with her 49-year-old aunt, Tina T. Curtis, who was also her primary caretaker.
Tina Curtis was arrested and charged with abuse and neglect of a vulnerable adult, leading to their death.
She is being held with a $25,000 bond.
