AUSTIN, Texas — An investigation is underway after a person died at Perry-Castañeda Library Saturday evening.

According to University of Texas police, officers were called out to the library at 5:16 p.m. for a reported medical emergency.

Police say the person, who has not been identified, had “noticeable trauma” to their body.

The University of Texas Police Department’s Investigative Unit is looking into the death.

The Perry-Castañeda Library remained open during the duration of the incident. Police say there is no threat to the public.
