
PRINCETON, W.Va. – A Princeton man has pleaded guilty to a drug charge.
Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Cochran said Dayshan Darrow Herbert, 35, of Low Gap Road entered the plea today in Mercer County Circuit Court on a charge of delivery of methamphetamine.
Herbert was in indicted by a Mercer County Grand Jury in June 2024.
Sentencing was set for June 9 by Circuit Court Judge Ryan J. Flanigan and Herbert faces up to 15 years in prison.
Cochran said that Herbert’s conviction is the direct result of the consistent hard work of the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force. The Task Force consists of officers from the State Police, Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, McDowell County Sheriff’s Department, and Bluefield, West Virginia Police Department.
Cochran commended the investigation completed by the Task Force and thanked all of law enforcement, and the staff at the Prosecuting Attorney’s office for their work in combatting the illegal sale of drugs.
