MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. – Coal isn’t the only respected trade in the Two Virginias, so is lumberjacking. Although the weather was cold, many folks still came out to the annual Camp Creek Ramp Festival and Lumberjack Show.
This year’s event showcased a variety of lumberjack skills, as well as the Camp Creek State Park Foundation offering their classic ramp casserole amongst other concessions.
The Lumberjack Show’s organizer, Bryan Wamsley, tells us they had competitors from five different states travel in to showcase their skills, with the farthest state being Arkansas. He also shares with WVVA what he hopes to see next year.
Wamsley tells us this is the 15th year of the ramp festival and the 8th year of the lumberjack show. You can find the Camp Creek State Park Foundation on their Facebook page.
