Amazon’s Jeff Bezos fell down on his face Monday morning while walking around the just-landed Blue Origin capsule carrying an all-women crew, including his fiancee Lauren Sanchez.
Shortly after the craft touched down in Texas with Sanchez, singer Katy Perry, newscaster Gayle King and three other spacefarers inside, an excited Bezos circled the vessel and tried to find the door. He tripped before he could open it but did not appear injured after quickly popping back up and embracing Sanchez.
The 11-minute journey included four minutes of weightlessness and went about 62 miles above the planet. Entrepreneur Amanda Nguyen, engineer Aisha Bowe and film producer Kerianne Flynn also flew on the craft.
Bezos, 61, flew on Blue Origin’s first space tourism mission in July 2021 and excitedly welcomed actor William Shatner back to earth without incident after another 2021 space flight.
