President Donald Trump will join head coach Ryan Day and dozens of players to recognize Ohio State’s championship.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Buckeyes will be honored at the White House on Monday for winning the College Football Playoff National Championship earlier this year.

10TV will provide a live stream of the ceremony, which is scheduled to begin around 3 p.m.

“It’s an honor to be invited,” Day said last month. “It’s customary and I remember growing up and watching the national championship teams going to the White House and I always looked at that as ‘Man, what an honor that would be.'”

The Buckeyes posted a group photo on X of the team, with Carnell Tate holding the championship trophy, in front of the Lincoln Memorial around 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

The Buckeyes won the first title in the first year of the 12-team playoff, defeating Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame in the final.

It was Ohio State’s first national championship win since 2015 and Day’s first with the program.Trump did not attend the national championship game but did have a prerecorded video that aired during the game, which took place on the same day as the inauguration.

Over the weekend, the football team received three rings during the Ohio State spring game at Ohio Stadium.

Players and coaches from the 2024 championship team received a ring for making the College Football Playoff, one from the CFP for winning it and a championship ring from Ohio State.
