Celebrity Big Brother‘s JoJo Siwa and her housemate Chris Hughes have raised eyebrows with their growing closeness inside the house, causing a stir among fans who are questioning the nature of their relationship.

Last night viewers witnessed 21-year-old Siwa scribbling a secret message on Hughes’ hand. This intimate moment has sparked speculation and unwelcome comments directed at Siwa’s partner, Kath Ebbs, whom Siwa has been dating since November.

Kath, who is being bombarded by trolls on social media, received taunting remarks on her latest Instagram post. One troll wrote: “Have you seen JoJo and flirting with Chris? ? ? You was quick to make a TikTok on Mickey where are you hiding now [laughing emojis]” and another harshly commented: “How’s it feel knowing JoJo is flirting with Chris? I hope they hook up now.”

Adding to the conversation, Kimberly Wyatt, formerly of the Pussycat Dolls, admitted she felt uncomfortable with the pairs interaction given that Siwa has a significant other outside the house. Yet many fans leapt to the US star’s defence.

On X, formerly Twitter, one supporter posted: “Why can’t people see Chris and jojo are platonic , people really do try to see the sex in everything #CBBUK,” while another concurred: “before people get weird people that are friends like chris and jojo are allowed to have platonic intimacy and it doesn’t need to be s/xual or even romantic #CBBUK.”, reports the Mirror.

Throughout their stay in the Big Brother house, JoJo and Chris have formed a close bond, often seen cuddling in bed, with Chris tenderly stroking JoJo’s back. In a recent turn of events, during last night’s show, an affectionate moment was observed as JoJo slept on the floor beside Chris and appeared to write a message on his hand.

Rumours are rife among fans; some suspect the message conveyed “I love you,” while others believe it was a hint that Ella harbours feelings for Chris.

However these exchanges contravene the rules set by Big Brother, and the upcoming episode will showcase the consequences faced by the duo.

Faced with disciplinary action, JoJo and Chris will be restricted to communicating exclusively through megaphones indefinitely, ensuring their conversations become public broadcasts within the house.

This is not Chris’s inaugural violation of house rules. In the same episode as the note-passing incident, the Love Island celebrity was caught breaching protocol by speaking of nominations with fellow contestant Donna, which resulted in his confinement to the notorious Celebrity Wheelie Bin of Shame.

Adding to his penalties, Chris was tasked with concocting a rap as an act of atonement to his housemates—a performance that he delivered with a comedic flair before being allowed his freedom from the bin.

Elsewhere in the latest instalment of the show, the spotlight turned to nominations, marking the second round the housemates faced this season. With the next live eviction looming tonight, the tension rises as Patsy Palmer, Jack P Shepherd, and Trisha Goddard find themselves pitted against each other in the impending vote.

The individual who bids farewell tonight will be the third contestant to exit the 2025 series. The first departure witnessed former Conservative MP Michael Fabricant take leave, followed closely by Hollywood icon Mickey Rourke, whose exit from the house came as a result of “instances of unacceptable behaviour”.
