MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – Two hometown colleges are partnering up to make it easier for students to get their degrees.

Ferrum College and Patrick & Henry Community College are entering what’s called an “articulation agreement.”

Students with associate degrees from Patrick and Henry can transition to Ferrum for a bachelor’s degree.

The agreement focuses on majors in business management and social work. It also lets eligible students qualify for tuition benefits from their Panther Promise program.

The program lets students finish bachelor’s degrees in two years or Ferrum College covers the remaining cost.

The presidents from both colleges are praising the new partnership, saying it will allow students to complete a 4-year degree close to home while saving money.

Students who graduate in December with their associates degrees will be eligible starting then.
