OAK HILL, W.Va. – An Oak Hill man was sentenced Thursday to one to 15 years in jail for felony burglary and one year for misdemeanor domestic battery, second offense.

But Alfred L. Jennings, 62, will serve those terms concurrently, said Anthony Ciliberti Jr., Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney.

Jennings was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Paul M. Blake after Jennings plead guilty to the offenses on July 12.

Jennings must serve a minimum of one year in prison prior to being eligible for parole.

On October 11, 2023, Jennings broke into the home of his former girlfriend in Mt. Hope and attacked her following a verbal argument earlier in the day that included threats to the victim. Law enforcement documented that that victim had scratches and bruising on both sides of her face. Jennings has five prior domestic violence related criminal convictions.

This crime was investigated by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. The case was prosecuted by Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Jennifer D. Crane.
