A car has ploughed into a block of flats in Edinburgh following a police chase.

Three teenagers have been arrested after the Peugeot failed to stop for officers on Bankhead Drive in Edinburgh at around 3.20pm on Sunday. Following a short pursuit the car smashed into a property on Calder Grove.

An image shared with Edinburgh Live showed police at the scene with the car’s bonnet seen to be crumpled against the side of the home. Cops say the three occupants made off from the vehicle following the smash.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged before being released on an undertaking. Two other boys, aged 13 and 14, were also charged in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.20pm on Sunday, September 1, a Peugeot car failed to stop for officers on Bankhead Drive, Edinburgh. A short pursuit took place and the car stopped in Calder Grove where it struck a building.

“The three occupants made off from the car and following inquiries, a 17-year-old male was arrested and charged. He was released on an undertaking. Two additional males, aged 13 and 14 were charged in connection with the incident. They will be reported to the relevant youth justice authorities. No one was injured in the incident.”
