GRANVILLE, W.Va (WDTV) – A suspect is in custody after leading police on a car chase through Marion and Monongalia counties on Labor Day.

The chase began in Marion County at approximately 12:25 p.m., according to Marion County 911 officials. It ended in Granville with a suspect in custody.

In a video taken at the scene, what are believed to be gunshots can be heard before the driver begins going backward on Fairmont Road just below the Morgantown Mall.

A Fairmont Police cruiser can be seen attempting to stop the suspect by driving into the rear passenger side area.

The suspect’s identity has not been released.
