Police have released a CCTV image following an incident involving pyrotechnics during an Old Firm match.

Officers launched a probe following a report of “culpable and reckless behaviour” during the match between Celtic and Rangers at Parkhead on Saturday, May 11.

Cops say several smoke pyrotechnic devices were ignited during the match. They have now released a picture of a man they would like to speak to regarding the investigation.

He is described as being white and of slim build. He was seen to have been topless and was wearing a green and white scarf around his neck and black shorts.

Constable Daniel Brady: “We are keen to talk to the man in the image as we believe he may have information which could assist with our enquiries. I would encourage him or anyone who may recognise him to contact us.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 0933 of 11 May, 2024. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Celtic won the Scottish Premiership match 2-1 thanks to goals from Matt O’Riley and a John Lundstram own goal. The Rangers midfielder was then sent off following a challenge on Alistair Johnston.
