A five alarm blaze raged for hours at a tire shop in Queens Tuesday, injuring one firefighter, officials said.
The FDNY said it got a call around 5:14 p.m. about a fire at Liberty Ave. and Tuckerton St. in Jamaica, which quickly escalated.
It took nearly 200 firefighters and EMTs more than three hours to extinguish the blaze, which was under control by 9 p.m., according to FDNY officials.
No civilians were injured; one firefighter sustained a minor injury and was receiving treatment, the FDNY said Tuesday night.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, an FDNY press officer said.
