Shia LaBeouf has been filmed in a bizarre altercation in Edinburgh. The Transformers star appears to be squaring up to another reveller in the footage.

The award-winning Hollywood actor, who also starred in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, became embroiled in the late-night stand-off in the capital’s Cowgate.

Pals seemingly keep pair apart as irate LaBeouf – who also had roles in Disturbia and The Peanut Butter Falcon – throws his cap to the ground then motions angrily.

A Good Samaritan then intervened, standing between them and ushering LaBeouf away while the 38-year-old and his rival shouted across the street at each other.

Edinburgh Live reports LaBoeuf, who made his film debut in 1998 flickThe Christmas Path, began to walk down the road before quickly returning to the group throwing his cap away and continuing to shout.

Three men then huddle around him as one wraps his arms around the actor to hold him back again before LaBeouf is filmed walking away.

Over the last seven days, there have been reports of locals spotting Shia across Edinburgh while his wife Mia Goth is filming in Scotland for the upcoming Frankenstein film.

On TikTok, one fan shared a selfie with the actor. He shared that he was in his local ‘dive bar’ on Sunday night. The punter added: “Absolute legend. So friendly and down to earth.”

Other Edinburgh locals have said to have seen him at Ensign Ewart pub on the Royal Mile, and others saw him in the Cowgate sporting a full beard and a navy raincoat.
