A cocktail chair, dubbed the ‘chair of dreams’, has seen a price drop at Dunelm. The homeware retailer is offering up to 50% off on a range of products online and one item in particular has caught shoppers’ attention.
Dunelm’s Elsie Cocktail Chair, usually priced at £99, can now be snapped up with a hefty 20% discount for a limited period. This means a saving of nearly £20, bringing the total down to a more wallet-friendly £79.20.
The ‘stylish’ chair comes in four muted understated colours that would blend seamlessly into any bedroom or living space. Shoppers have the choice of Mushroom (taupe), Thistle (purple), Lilypad (green) and Grey.
The Elsie cocktail chair, with its compact design, is ideal for adding a pop of colour to any space, regardless of size. With a soft, foam-filled seat and sturdy solid wood legs, the chair is not only visually appealing and great value but also easy to assemble.
The velvet Elsie chair in cream was showcased on Dunelm’s Instagram page, quickly grabbing the attention of shoppers when one person who bought it described it as ‘the chair of your dreams’. On the retailer’s website, it has garnered an impressive rating of 4.8 out of five stars, based on 707 reviews from customers, as reported by Chronicle Live.
One satisfied customer shared: “A very elegant velvet chair and a perfect finish for my bedroom dressing table,” adding that “The chair has a beautiful soft feel to it, is very comfortable yet strong to sit on as well as being the perfect height for a dressing table.”
Another happy shopper penned: “Absolutely love it, it’s small but perfect for my new bedroom. Well-made and easy to put together – just screw in the legs.”

This design comes in either olive green or striking pink with dark wooden legs – however, this edition of the chair is not included in the sale and will cost the full £99 price tag.
Wayfair, another homeware giant, offers a few similar alternatives. The Marlon Elegant Velvet Accent Slipper Chair is priced at £155.99 fopr the grey version.
