BECKLEY, W.Va. – Located at 301 Beckley Plaza, Academy Sports Facility has locations across 19 states with more than 280 stores, the operations manager for the facility says the company helps to meet all needs within a community.
“So, we offer a wide range of merchandise. We have everything from fishing to hunting, firearms and ammo. We have footwear apparel. We have fitness bikes, all of your basketball, baseball, football, softball, all of your sporting needs. We cater to everyone’s needs,” Jesse Hawks, Academy Sports Facility, Operations Manager.
This new location in Beckley saw a need within the community and representatives say they thought they were the perfect fit, even providing 60 jobs to the community along with their wide range of merchandise.
“With us offering so much of a wide range of variety, you can kind of get everything at one place. You don’t have to shop around at other locations. You can get everything you want here, and we can give you that great customer service that this Beckley area deserves,” Hawks said.
While the store offers many big names brand items, the store director says they also provides a great resource for anyone looking great value at a low cost.
“So, a lot of the stuff that we sell is our home brand. So Freely, Magellan, everybody who’s looking for a great value. Those are the items you can get fishing shirts for 20 dollars. You can get kids clothes for, you know, 10 bucks. Our home brands really bring the best price and the best value, but we still carry national brands from Under Armour, Nike, you’ve got Adidas. We sell just about everything for baseball, football, soccer,” said Brianna Woolever, Academy Sports Facility Store Director.
