A groom from Married At First Sight UK has been accused of abuse by several women.

E4 first shared Alex Henry’s promo video for the dating show four days ago, after which comments flooded in making allegations.

The 28-year-old has been branded ‘dangerous’, with a group of women joining forces to demand that Channel 4 removes him from the programme.

Henry’s casting has even prompted people to contact to MAFS celebrity dating expert, Mel Schilling, as they expressed concern.

As reported by The Sun, multiple women have presented evidence of their accusations about the personal trainer to the broadcaster.

Henry, from Birmingham, is reportedly still due to feature in the upcoming series of MAFS, which launches in mere days.

In his promo reel, shared to the show’s Instagram page, Henry says he ‘would make the perfect partner because [he] knows how to keep a woman happy’.

He also says performing in the bedroom is ‘one of [his] strengths’ and shared his hopes for his new partner to be ‘somebody who is happy in themselves and confident’.

‘On my wedding day, I will be most nervous about me not being attracted to my partner physically,’ he admitted, adding jokingly that he would leave his partner for celebrity crush Nicole Scherzinger.

After the video was uploaded, over 400 comments were left, with user dchristinam writing: ‘Didn’t realise you allowed domestic abusers to be part of a television show. Well done E4 👏’

In response, shannonmunnelly wrote: ‘He is an absolute disgrace of a human being. I can’t believe this is allowed.’

Munnelly also penned: ‘In situations where people are marrying each other at first sight, allowing a domestic abuser to join the show is not acceptable at all.’

‘I have seen first-hand the damage that this man has done,’ she claimed. ‘Something needs to be done about this situation.’

Taking to her Instagram Story, Munnelly later branded Henry’s casting ‘a shame to victims of abuse everywhere’.

She also reposted The Sun’s original report on the allegations, writing: ‘This man is a dangerous man. I am glad the whole world is reading about his true colours.’

Munnelly then urged others to ‘reach out’ if they had experiences to share, stating that she is speaking out ‘for [her] friend’ who dated Henry.

Additionally, Munnelly said ‘we have messaged, pictures, videos, everything required and we have not yet received an update on the urgent matter that you are investigating’, directed at Channel 4.

This prompted Schilling to say that she would pass their message on.

Later, a Channel 4 advisor responded to the women directly, explaining that Henry would not be taken out of the programme.

The message read: ‘MAFS UK was filmed several months ago and is not live, so Alexander will feature in the programmes that have been edited and are due for broadcast later this month.

‘There will also be promotional activity on the channel’s social media platforms during this time, in which Alexander may appear.’

When approached for comment, a Channel 4 spokesperson told : ‘MAFS UK contributors are subject to rigorous background vetting, including multiple independent psychological evaluations and a criminal record check before they can be cleared to take part.

‘We cast contributors based on the information we are legally able to access and we continue to review this process to ensure checks are as thorough as legally possible’
